Abstract
During this workshop you will learn how to build a naive web
application that can easily scale from one to hundreds of servers at
your will without the need of buying and installing any hardware.
With PHP and the Tarzan framework you will be able to quickly develop
and deploy a YouTube like web application based on the Amazon Web
Services.
The following topics will be covered:
- components of a web application (10m)
- introduction to Amazon Web Services (20m)
- the application server: EC2 (45m)
- the storage: S3 (45m)
- the data layer: SimpleDB (45m)
- the glue: SQS (45m)
- scale it (30m)
Biografia
Federico Feroldi has more than twelve years of experience in designing, developing, integrating and managing complex solutions for Internet-based companies. In 2009 he founded Cloudify to provide
enterprise-level cloud computing solutions. Cloudify assists organizations in integrating Cloud Computing into their IT and Business strategies, and in building and managing scalable, next generation infrastructure environments.
